Internet Safety

Delete Online Predators is a project of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP).

Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are working hard to combat Internet crimes against children. Local police, sheriffs and prosecutors are coordinating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and other agencies to respond to cases of child pornography, cyber-enticement and other crimes.

In Tennessee, local efforts are led by the Volunteer State's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force based in the Knoxville Police Department and funded by a grant from the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). By summer 2007, the statewide task force had reached agreements to facilitate cooperation and sharing of information among approximately 20 police departments and sheriffs' offices across Tennessee.
